Father's Day Card

Today,  I’d like to share a card I made for Father’s Day along with my daughter Shreya.  There is this adorable cling stamp from Penny Black called “To daddy” which she already set her eyes on.  She is her daddy’s darling, and I think the stamp set reflects the sweet bond they share.

So, I got the image stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat set it before coloring with Distress inks. I love coloring and I love Tim Holtz Distress inks.

Next step was to smoosh distress inks on a panel and cutting it using the “In Stitches” die by Simon Says Stamp. I used a partial die-cutting method to get the square frame that would fit the image.

Once the image and the frame were mounted, I used alphabets from the Avery Elle- “A Tag for All ” die set. We stuck the alphabets for the “My Hero” sentiment on the frame and we were done!

Shreya wanted to add some hearts, so out came my favourite heart stamp from Simon Says Stamp called  ” Absolutely Delightful” set.  For stamping the heart, we used Color Box Pigment ink      “Treasure ” for the silver accent. Shreya decided to color the My hero die-cuts with Wink of Stella. I think it looks cute!!  Can’t wait for Father’s Day to give it!

Apart from what I mentioned, I used the supplies listed below also for the card.

  • Distress Inks – My favourite- Worn Lipstick, Crushed Olives, Peacock Feathers, Weathered Wood, Fired Brick, Walnut Stain, Pumice Stone, Spiced Marmalade, Scattered Straw, Spun Sugar and Peeled Paint.
  • Stampoholic stamping tool
  • Ranger Heat Tool
  • Koi Watercolor Brush
  • Ranger Craft Mat
